Aistin blue

Aistin Blue boards are specifically designed for low energy, battery operated wireless IoT and wearables. The board is a very integrated and simple-to-use modular especially suitable for sensor solutions. The system has Bluetooth LE with an integrated crystal antenna, keeping it compact and avoiding external components. Blue is great for wearables, including wrist worn devices. We use Aistin Blue as a platform for customer projects, where we adapt it to perfectly suit our customer’s specific needs.

Aistin Bus24
Aistin Bus24 is open standard interface supported by iProtoXi. Aistin Bus24 is next generation solution for IoT applications where low power and small size are required. The Aistin Bus24 connects IoT components such as sensors and actuators to processing units. Use cases:

  • Development kits with the Aistin Bus24 provide low cost and fast deployment of sensors while developing the IoT-nodes or corresponding applications.
  • Use Bus24 to develop your own add-on boards not just for prototypes, but end products as well.
  • Bus24 is excellent when board height has to be considered, allowing easy wearable product development and prototyping.

Technical overview
Aistin Blue boards are equipped with Aistin Bus24 host connectors based on the Aistin Bus24 open standard specification. Board has micro USB connector for data transfer (FTDI) and battery charging, power and charge control, smart switch, and programmable red, green and blue LEDs. Blue Boards have build-in sensors for detecting motion, humidity, temperature and air pressure. Solution can be extended, but in same time kept still tiny by using Aistinbus24 add-on-boards or flexes. See variants from our Support page. Aistin Blue supports firmware upload over-the-air via Bluetooth LE. Software development tools are provided by Nordic Semiconductor (downloadable for free). Software can be also developed with ARM MBED. Board supports also Tag-Connect connector less interface (TC2030) for flashing and debugging.

When building on IoT or wearable device, you will probably prefer new features of the Bluetooth 5. Even 4 times better range and 4 times better throughput. BTL5x1 will also support upcoming BT5.1 MESH.

Aistin Sensor Scanner application (Android)

Aistin Sensor Scanner Android application is available for Aistin Blue customers.

With this application you can read sensor values over the Bluetooth, see sensor values in application UI and log received data to file for later study/analyze. Both environment data (air pressure, air humidity and temperature) and motion data (acceleration, rotation and magnetism) is transferred over the BT-LE.

Kionix IoT kit software

Kionix IoT kit software works with BTL-3H3 and BTL-3K3 Aistin Blue variants.

Rohm Kionix has selected iProtoXi Aistin Blue as their Iot Evaluation and Development Kit.  See Kionix Press release. Kionix’s Evaluation Kit Software includes both Kionix Windows Sensor Evaluation and Multi-OS Evaluation Software. The Windows-based software is GUI driven to allow easy sensor configuration and data acquisition while the Multi-OS software is command-line driven for more flexible and sophisticated evaluation and algorithm development. Aistin IoT Blue Sensors are small in size and has low power consumption. With the Aistin Sensor Scanner Application you can read sensor values over the Bluetooth. Also local configuration and setup is possible using the Bluetooth connection. Cloud services allows users to easily connect, manage, monitor and control IoT devices and sensors remotely via internet with modern web technologies.

Aistin IoT Blue offers everything you need to rapidly start developing your IoT-prototype. It has many built-in sensors and more can be added through Aistin Bus24 connector.

Add-on Radio Modules

Latest state of the art iProtoXi Aistin IoT Blue Sensor solutions are available with several radio techniques. Currently available with Lora and NB-IoT radios but can be furnished with forthcoming radios too. The Sensor module has an external antenna for the radio.

Aistin IoT Concrete Drying Sensor

Concrete needs to be dry before it is structurally solid. You can never be absolutely sure, when the concrete has dried, as moisture and temperature have to be considered. Our Aistin solution makes monitoring the process easy. By wirelessly remote monitoring the drying process, you can focus on other tasks at hand. The sensor uses LoraWan approved Lora-module. Local configuration and setup is possible with Bluetooth.

Pressure comparison between containers or open air is now easy. Our Aistin solution works wiresly and measuring remote locations frees you to do other tasks at hand. This ultrasound-based sensor measures and tracks the height of any liquid or mass in a container. Weather proof design allows the sensor to be placed practically almost anywhere. The sensor uses LoraWan approved Lora-module or CE/FCC approved 4G NB-IoT module. Local configuration and setup is possible with Bluetooth.

iProtoXi cloud platform can be used, where users can follow sensors realtime and history data via dashboard.  Cloud services allows users to easily connect, manage, monitor and control IoT devices and sensors remotely via internet with modern web technologies. Our cloud services can be tailored to meet your own specific requirements and needs. WolkAbout and Cumolocity cloud services are also fully supported for data visualisation, user management and device management.

Also Capricode’s patented SyncShield® technology can be used for device management. It resolves challenges related directly to scaling up IoT solutions at a very large scale. Together with the scalable iProtoXi solution offerings, it lowers barrier to large scale radio independent (e.g. BT5, Lora, 4G NB IoT and future 5G) IoT sensor rollouts minimizing cyber security risks.
Technical overview
Automated management allows dynamic updates, parameter changing and updating software. Sensor logics are used to preprocess the sensor data and make the data more usable for the application. Sensor logics are also used to filter the amount of sensor data to be sent to upper layers. Reduced communication helps on power consumption when using wireless battery powered devices.
